update

sorry it this has taken me forever to update. these are pics from sept and oct for some reason october ended up on top. at the babies 2mth check up koltin weighed 6lbs 2ozs and sadie weighed in at 7lbs 12ozs. koltin had not gained very much weight so the dr put him on partial formula which didnt agree with him very well. in sept i took him back to get a check up and he weighed 7lbs 14ozs. sadie weighed 8lbs 15ozs. at the appointment in sept i talked the dr into letting me put koltin back on breast milk only and told him he would just get more bottles during the day. he also discharged both babies from their monitors at that appointment. both babies are growing like little weeds and becoming more and more active. at their four month check up sadie weighed 10lbs 4ozs and was 22 inches long and koltin was 9lbs 6ozs and 21 1/2 inches long. they are both smiling when you talk to them, both can roll from belly to back, and both have giggled. both usually sleep from 8-7 at night. its amazing. they both like to be stood up and sat where they can look around. both have had their first tastes of cereal and baby food and love it. they are up to 7 and 7 1/2 ounces when they eat from a bottle. its amazing how far we have come. i wouldnt change my life for anything.

Baby Update

i know i have not updated this in a while, but here it goes. the babies are doing wonderfully. at our last dr appointment sadie was weighing in at 5lbs 7ozs and Koltin at 5lbs 1oz. he said both looked great. we go back to the dr august 27th to see if we can get their monitors off and to get their shots. unfortunatly robert has to do that one alone as i have started back at work and cant go. i love having my babies home. they are so much to love on and enjoy. i will add some pics of them following this. both babies are able to nurse and bottle feed. they both love their binks. both are belly babies.

34 week check up

Well we missed our 34 week appointment by four days. On fathers day June 21st at 11:45am my water broke. with no signs, pains, or clues. we had gone out to my parents to help them get ready for the festivities and the next thing i know as i stand up gush yep thats right i though i peed my pants. we tried to call all kinds of people to make sure that it was my water and finally got ahold of michelle(roberts sister) who said yep get to the hospital. we got there about noon and they hooked me up to monitors and took a test to make sure my water broke. and sure enough koltins sac had ruptured. i had no contractions or anything it was me chillin on a bed waiting it out. around two they started me on patocine (the labor starting meds), and about the same time i started labor on my own. they checked me and i was only dilated to a 1 1/2 and 90%effaced. it took them about 8 tries to get the iv in me to start me on my meds not a fun time. they decided that since they couldnt get koltin to stay on a monitor that they would put an internal monitor in and a contraction monitor. when you are only 1 1/2cm dilated them trying to put monitors in you while you lay as far back as you can is not the best thing ever. i am pretty sure everyone in my area heard me and my pain. i laid there til about 6 with painful contractions, and about 730 i had dilated to a four so they started my epidural. they didnt check me again until 11 only to find i was completely dilated and koltin was ready to escape. they rolled me back to or to deliver. they got me prepped and ready while we waited on the dr. he showed up about 1140 we started pushing. by 1151 pm my lil guy was born and 17 mins after that sadie made her way into the world. they said i did awesome delivering for my first time (lil do they know it is my last). they only had to do a few stitches for what they called my skid marks. lol.

Sadie needed to be on cpap for the fluid in her lungs since her water didnt break pre labor. koltin was able to breath on his own with no help and has been able to do so since. monday they spent the day in the nicu being observed and worked with. Sadie only had to be on cpap from the time she was born until about 10am she is a fighter. they tested koltin on his ability to hold body temp but he failed. they put him in a isolette to help him keep his temp. tuesday they found out that he had jaundice. they decided to put sadie in clothes to test her heat since they were going to be moving them up to special care. she was able to keep her heat until late tuesday night. so when i walked into their room wednesday i found her back on heat and koltin with even higher jaundice levels which made for a very hurt mommy. they both continued to make great progress wednesday though. they put sadie back in clothes and off the heat. both had trouble at first being able to nurse even with the help of a lactation specialist, but my friend paula helped me to be able to get them to latch and suck. both also took bottles like champs wednesday. thursday koltin was off the jaundice lamp, but poor sadie was put in an isolette like koltin for her heat. both babies on very low heat and keeping their temps good. both did good at tempting to nurse and continued to work the bottle. we found out thurday that the babies have apnea which is normal for preemies and that they would go home on monitors. i was a little nervous at first but monitors will give us a good feeling when they are home and stop breathing. robert and i also have to take cpr class before they can come home. we also found out that they have to be able to sit in a car seat with no apnea spells for an hour and a half. i have to stay in the hospital with them for 24 hours before they can come home for a mommy and me night. Today i got there to find both my babies on jaundice lights. but koltins feedings were uped and both babies are eating like champs. they are both on the lowest settings on their beds. i am so proud of my little fighters. i am sure i am leaving something out but so much has happened and i have tried to put everything in here for you to read. i will try to update as much as possible, but i am at the hospital all day and have robert, caleb, cierra, and housework at night. hope all is well

33 week check up

well sadie is now weighing 5lbs 8ozs and koltin is 4lbs 14ozs(probably 5lbs by now). both babies passed their tests yesterday so that is good. we had a different sono tech and i am not sure that i really cared for her. she first measured koltin at 4lbs 6ozs which would make him lose two ounces instead of gain. she was just gonna leave it that way but i threw a fit making her remeasure. i knew the dr would not like her answer. so she remeasured. dr christman told me i looked good and the babies look good so he would see me next time. i go back wednesday for another check up. ill keep all updated.

First big scare

i ended up in wesley's labor and delivery this am. i had not felt the babies move since 7pm monday night and was scared so i called my dr and they told me to go check my self into labor and delivery. come to find out i am 1cm dilated and 60% effaced. they gave me an iv of liquids cuz they said i was dry. they did a test to see if i was in preterm labor and it came back negative meaning that it is 95% in my favor that i will not deliver within the next two weeks so we should make it to 35 weeks. i was having contractions that hurt like nothing else. i cried through everyone then they gave me some tylenol and benadryl to help with the pain and that made them much better. the babies are both fine and moving non stop i just wasnt able to feel them. both heart beats are good and strong. so GOD is completely in control. i will keep everyone updated as i know more. we go to the dr tomorrow at 2.

32 week check up and more

My mom (karen), Grandma (wilm), and friend (penny) hosted my shower saturday June 13th. it was a great shower, and had a great turn out. i was glad to have so many people out to support me. i got lots of awesome things and appreciate all the small and big things people have done for me and the babies.

we took the kids to the drive in saturday night to see up, and night at the museum. they had fun. we left early due to rain.

robert taught caleb how to mow the grass. he didnt like it at first but then had fun doing it.

we had our 32 week check up on wednesday the 10th. sadie gained 5ozs and weighs 4lbs 9 ozs, koltin gained 7ozs and is now 4lbs 8ozs. yeah for good growth. both babies have good breathing movement and look to be doing great. as far as mommy he said i am measuring 44 weeks prego, i have pregnancy onset carpaltunal (how ever you spell it). i asked him about an appointment that i have july second and he said lets get you there first. you have to make it that far. so he dont even think i will make it much further. we got caleb and cierra that day too so they got to go to my appointment and see and hear the babies. they loved it.

i went to the dr today only to be told my blood flow is so funny that it has caused me to become conjested and feel crappy.

i go for my 33 week check up on wednesday. wish me and these babies luck.

31 week check up

well koltin gained 11ozs putting him at 4lbs and sadie gained 3ozs making her 4lbs 4ozs. both had good breathing movements which makes me feel better about them possibly being born early. the dr said i look good and everything looks wonderful. we go back next wednesday at 2. we will also have our kids that day too. what a wonderful day that will be.
